Once again, our beloved Block Eight has delivered a stunning and sophisticated wine. Aromas of wild blueberry and crème de cassis rise from the glass, followed by layers of vanilla, tobacco leaf and savory smoked meats. The lush dark fruit continues on the palate, where firm tannins and refreshing acidity hint at this wine’s excellent aging potential. The finish is complex and lingering, with notes of plum, purple roses, dark berry fruit and exotic spice.

This special limited-production Cabernet Sauvignon comes from our acclaimed Block Eight. Planted in 1997 to the famed BelleTerre field selection of Cabernet Sauvignon in volcanic soils with an ideal southwest orientation, Block Eight achieves beautiful ripeness, yielding a robust and voluptuous wine.
Key fermentation techniques included indigenous yeast, extended 21-day maceration and 100% whole berries. To accentuate its rich, robust character our Block Eight Cabernet was made entirely from free-run wine and aged in a combination of French and American oak barrels, with 60% new, for 18 months.
